vw polo rear door not opening!

Hi guys. I have a problem with my polo central locking. The passenger side rear door does not open with the other doors. Its been doing this for a couple of weeks now.now it does not open at all. Child lock is not engaged. When trying to open the door from inside the button lifts up but goes down again as soon as you release the handle. Please help? Thanks in advance
 
The doors uses a cable linkages to open the door. The inside and the outside have different cable in a way that the inside cab be damaged but you can still be able to open the door from outside.

In you case can't the door be opened from inside or both ways?
 
Just do a google "polo back door wont open" and you will find a solution to your problem. There are lots of possible solutions there. Good luck.
 
I had the same issue on my Polo 9N right rear door about 8 years in when the door's lock would jump up and immediately crash down again. Could only open the door from inside for a few months until I could no longer open the door at all.
Had to sort it out when I wanted to mount my roof rack. An indy mechanic just behind the roof rack shop was unable to open the door after a few attempts and recommended taking it to a VW dealership as they deal with the lock issue regularly.
Barons Culemborg charged me a reasonable R2k for a new lock and installation about a year ago. Still working fine.
 
Hi guys. Sorry for only replying now. Thank You all for your input. The door does not open at all. From both sides. Ive had someone lock and unlock the vehicle whil i listen to the door to check if its unlocking at all. Doesnt sound like anything is happening inside. I do believe its a common problem under the vw 9ns. i just wish there was a why to bypass the central locking in the meantime as i cant have it fixed at the moment. Thanks guys once again

Hi stokstert. I have checked. most of the cases i have read about online was due to a cable that came loose. I dont think this specific problem has been posted about much. Thank you:)
