Hi all

Anyone know what this could be and how expensive to fix.

I have 97 VW polo classic and what happens is if while driving I put the accelerator flat the the rev's start going up and the car rev's rather that giving power. Then I have to stop accelerating and start again slowly only putting the accelerator in half way.

Any Help Please.

Thanks

Yup - clutch.

Was R3.5k on my previous Corolla

def clutch.. was R1000 for part on a Getz ? if you can do it yourself should be around there :) else expect around R3000.

oh and you have to be very strong and know a lot about cars to change it yourself :P

sux 2 be you! Clutch! Have never had a clutch fail on any of my cars ever regardless of age. Guess i dont ride my clutch then :P

Don't wait too long. You could already be causing damage to your flywheel due to the worn clutch-plate and that will just add to the bill (either to replace or to skim)
