Item wanted: LED Grow Lights
Is packaging essential?: If shipped it should packed securely
Desired age and condition: Needs to be in a working and usable condition. Not worried about the age
Location: Cape Town
Willing to accept a shipped item: If in CPT, i can arrange for it to be picked up

I'm growing some Super hot Chillis (Carolina Reapers, Maruga Scorpion, Fatali chillis and Habaneros)

I only started growing them in january, they are about 3-4inches tall at the moment

I'll have to "Overwinter" and grow them indoors. Winter is coming in the next 3-4months , so i need an LED grow system that is not going to break the bank.

I heard one can use normal E27 LED Lights (Warm White and Cool White together, to give the red/blue spectrum of the Grow lights)

Any advise is welcome.

PS. Proper grow lights are Red and Blue lights. (Usually 2 red :1 Blue ratio)

Similar to this Picture : http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NTg1WDgyMQ==/z/XQ8AAOSwGzlTs9cY/$_32.JPG?set_id=880000500F

I'm looking for maybe a couple of 14watt to 20watt options. (not the 90watt to 300watt, Those will set me back a couple of thousand..)

Cheers
:D

http://www.hydroherbafrica.co.za/

They might be able to help I got a 300w LED light from them for R3900 they might have the ones you want.

http://www.bidorbuy.co.za/search/led+grow+lights

Bidorbuy have quite a few for sale

http://growguru.co.za/product-category/categories/plant-lighting/led-grow-lights/

Or growguru but they have 200% markup on their items and in general rip you off

Or ideally get a 400w HPS light with a balast its much cheaper

Those are all High Power and high prices items.. I was looking for a 2nd hand item. That maybe uses like 30watt or 50watt (worst case 90watt)

Prices are huge.

I bought 2 x T5 tubes meant for fitting under kitchen cupboards to light the work surface. They plug into a normal outlet so you can use a timer. Mounted them on a home made stand (that plastic pipe). Paid R200 each and they work a treat for microgreens.

hehe, nah just for home use. I love HOT HOT HOT food. And our shops and local stores only sell the Jalapeno and sometimes habanero maximum.

Chilli's are awesome in relishes and on Pizzas or mixed with Garlic on seafood. (So i am growing the Hot Super Hot Stuff)

As mentioned. I'm growing some of the hotter variety of chillis (the Carolina Reapers, Bhut Julokias, Naga Vipers etc).

They in Pots at the moment. Winter is almost here and i'll need to take them indoors. Where i can control the temperature.

My main problem being no sunlight indoors (or at least not enough sunlight). That's where the grow lights must come into the story.

Msg me asap

Would super bright (5050 LEDs) warm white & cool white strips work? They're quite easy to find here in CT

Hi. I suppose they would work yes. The warm giving the red spectrum and cool giving the blue spectrum..

Obviously it's not ideal, because alot of light is wasted (plants don't really use white...). But will absorb the blue/red spectrum of the rainbow which is also in coolwhite/warmwhite.

If you're willing to build your own, a roll of super bright red, a roll of blue & a 60W power supply from futurelight will set you back just under 1300.

Where did you get those chilli seeds?

I'm growing a few african birds eye's, which are nice and hot.
And a few other jelapino's.
