Is packaging essential?: No
Desired age and condition: Any age, visual condition not important, sound must be perfect

Willing to accept a shipped item: from a trusted forumite yes, anyone else I need to hear the amp first

Haha I know, waiting to register. But that Sony can't play from the HDMI otherwise it would be perfect. My set top box only has HDMI and Stereo RCA output, currently running stereo but starting the upgrade path

Ah, my bad. I passed on it because it doesn't have enough HDMI inputs, didn't realise that it doesn't play sound from the HDMI.

I could get a converter but need to shop around a bit before I compromise, converter boxes are not ideal.

The budget can be pushed though, just not too far

Apparently i'm blind as I cant find it. But someone advertised a onkyo receiver a week or so ago, think it was R2500, but very nice.

Maybe you can find it, i cant.

Found it, it's not R2500 though, it's R3000, still a great price.

Depends, how much are they asking?, I sold my DA3300ES for R3000 2 weeks ago.

Looking at the specs this is actually better than my old 3300ES, this actually looks proper. it even decodes TrueHD....

Before I found this I would have said +-R3000, its a powerful amp but its old, that said, there is not much new amps can do that this amp cant.
