W203 Merc Pre-facelift Gurus pull in. Headunit upgrade

So I have a 2001 W203 C200k Merc that I would to have the head unit upgraded. Settled on one of the Android units from Stop-shop.

problem I have now is, I need to know if the car I have, has a fibre optic amp or not? My car has the sub in the rear parcel shelf. But not the Harmon Kardon/Bose/Whatever sound upgrade from the factory as far as I know.

To anybody that has bought the stop shop units. When you tick the "has fibre optic amplifier" option, do they send you a totally different unit with different connections at the back, or is it simply an added adaptor they send you so the fibre optic connection works with the standard head unit they send everybody?

Are you sure you can trust stopshop.co.za? I see they are calling the Renault Sandero, a Dacia and since they are in SA, it's kinda strange.

1. My brother bought a unit for a Golf. How would he know what happens on the Merc units?
