WA does it again ..........

moosag, in all fairness, if the guy will deny you the business because a call got disconnected, then he's not a very reliable partner/client in the first place.

No offence... But you dont the know business deal. So dont assume. I still carry on business with the client. But that instance of a deal went sour due to time difference and forex.

So, I would like to see all self-authenticating ADSL ISPs putting in place a "preferred-disconnect time" setting that their customers can use to specify the preferred disconnect time(s) - at least that way you know when not to be in the middle of a SkypeOut call...

That is an idea, the other thing we thought was that we stagger it across 1 hour from 23:30 to say 00:30. That way the stats will still be fairly accurate for one day.

If you got disconnected again, I would recommend a manual "reboot"/disconnect on your modem sometime between now and midnight just to be safe.

Now I hate Telkom even more!!!!
I was busy chatting to a very important business client overseas last night, and then wham 11:59:23 I get DC'd. I LOST THE BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!! I am insanely!!!!! pissed off!!!!!!

I dont hold WA responsible. But Telkom.... I truly hope all you idiots out there, that you catch a disease, pass it onto your kids, and die!!!!!! I have lost all forms of remorse, moral and anything good for Telkom employees. Frankly I couldnt give a damn if they get blown to bits and every single Telkom upper management dies!!!!! Go to hell you bunch of pricks!!!

Thanks WA for the service btw. Much appreciated.

Moosag, you have our extreme sympathy and apologies for having to deal with that. :(

IC - have a look at here:

The ""last day" thing is not that useful, because abuse can take place on any day of the month (although the chance increases at month end).

We been discussing this and we can definitely relax it a bit and possible offer 24 only for customers that can take responsibilty for their usage.

eg thinking along the lines of
<1GB and below 6 hour
>1GB 24 hour

We not going to worry about a 50mb over say, we are more concerned about deliberate abuse by someone on say a 1mb line who signs up for 1GB prepaid and tries to get as much out of it in 24 hours.

I really wish we didn't have to try and get around this problem because its unecessary to regulary disconnect an ADSL client in the first place. Also this issue forms part of our ICASA complaint.
