I can upgrade in March and I'm thinking of getting an iPhone 4. Should I rather wait for the iPhone 5 or what ever Apple will call it? There's also rumors that Appe may release/announce it as soos as March but you never know.

Thanks to Apple's initial lock in with ATT it's pretty reasonable to expect that the iPhone 5 will be released on schedule. Fight the urge to upgrade now, even if it means switching to PAYG for a few months.

And just as the iPhone 5 arrives, and everyone is basking in its closed platform glory, iPhone 6 will be around the corner. And then we shall have to rather wait for it. But by then, rumours of the iPhone 7 will surely be circulating on the web, and your consideration to get an iPhone 6 will simply be giving up on fighting the urge and getting an iPhone which can pretty much do what the previous iPhone did, only a little better. So eventually, when you simply say... i want an iphone.. get an iphone... as in this monday morning coming up tomorrow.

I wouldnt wait. I have the iPhone 4 and it is by far the best phone out there currently. I use it for everything, checking emails, browsing the web and watching full length movies. The screen is unbelievably clear. Even if they do announce the iPhone 5 soon, it will take forever to become available in South Africa. When it is finally available, it is impossible find a shop with stock and it will probably be pricey.

I wouldnt get an iPhone 4.

Definitely not the best phone out there anymore, the antenna fiasco is still present in all the new phones & the lack of support from Apple/Core is just shocking for such an expensive phone.

The iPhone is most definitely still the best phone out there.. And the 5th will be even better :P

Well, this isn't an iPhone but I have a macbook pro. I bought it in November last year, despite people telling me I should wait. Now I want a new macbook, so I am trying to sell my pretty much brand new one to buy another one.

:(

Who's actually complaining about the antenna, I wanna know?

+1 Man, I'm so tired of people going on and on and on 'bout the antenna "fiasco"... Google it... 1,7% of the phones were returned. Hardly a fiasco in my books. Before I got my first iPhone I had OBF's with two Nokias and a SonyEricsson... 3 iPhones since then and never a problem.

Samsung galaxy S 2 and motorola atrix kick iphone ass :D

Antennagate Redux: Consumer Reports condemns Verizon iPhone 4

The Return of Death Grip

By Cade Metz in San Francisco • Get more from this author

The Verizon CDMA incarnation of Apple's iPhone 4 suffers from the same dropped-call syndrome as the existing GSM incarnation, according to the venerable American product tester Consumer Reports.

As a consequence, Consumer Reports is not putting the Verizon iPhone 4 on its list of recommended smartphones – something that's sure to annoy Steve Jobs and cult. "The Verizon iPhone 4 closely resembles the original AT&T iPhone 4 in many positive respects, including offering great multimedia functionality, a sharp screen, and the best MP3 player we've seen on a phone," reads a blog post from Consumer Reports.

"Unfortunately, it also shares with its sibling the possibility of compromised performance in low-signal conditions when used without a bumper or case."

Its operating system.

Its operating system.

Oh, the one that you must first jailbreak before it becomes useful?

I've owned an iPhone before so know all about the 300MB updates for iOS and the 90MB updates for iTunes. Used to rape my Vodacom HSDPA bundle.

TRY AGAIN. :p
