I'm due an upgrade on the 4th and I'm a little torn. Vodacom changes their specials on the 7th of November and I can either wait to see if there are any good new specials or go for it on the 4th.

For information, I'm not likely to hit an awesome expensive contract, I'm more of the Weekend Everyday or Top Up 200 type of guy so it may actually not make much difference in the long run.

Ideas?

my upgrade is due on the 4th as well.
whats that u say about new specials??
share them.
i am also not sure what to upgrade to.... nothing with a touch screen.
using a nokia 6300 at the mo. very cool phone, nice and small so i want something similar, just newer tech.

any ideas??

My gut feel is that the exchange rate is going make next month's list of decent phones a lot shorter than this month's, so I ordered now.

If you're into Nokia, that 6500 classic seems to be popular.

If its only 3 days to wait for the specials, rather wait. You may just be pleasantly surprised.....

Thats unless you REALLY want a phone now :D

See I'm using the 6110 navigator atm (work contract) but I'm resigning so that is going away.

The 6210 is a possibility as is the blackberry 8310.

jay-co: I spoke to a vodacom person on Saturday about the deals and she said that the specials expire on the 6th of November. So from the 7th there will be a whole new package of specials.

I reckon I'm going to go in tomorrow to talk to the shop people and see what I can sort out.

OK so here's the skinny about what's going to happen :D

I spoke to a Vodacom person today and it turns out that a whole lot of prices are going to be going up with the new specials which will be announced on the 7th of November. Vodacom are claiming that because the exchange rate has gone up so much, the phones (and therefore contracts) will be going up as well.

If the Vodashop/Vodaplace of your choice has stock of the phone you want and you can upgrade now, do it! I can only upgrade on the 18th alas so I'm going to have to hope that the phone I'm getting doesn't go up in price!

Only Vodacom, with MTN italk the price for Samsung Omnia on Anytime 200 contract had drop by another R10 today compared to when I applied 2 weeks ago.

Vodacom are so fantastically scummy :D The phone I'll probably end up getting is about 3 years old and yet will probably go up.
