Don't get excited... love your dial-up
Don't get excited. I placed my initial order in late October last year. On 15 December I was waiting for the techies to come and install my ADSL line. They confirmed, on their computers, the complex's ability to get a land line, as well as the exchange DSL capability. Nonetheless, no-one pitched. I got my residential line installed about 3 weeks ago... In the meantime, they have cancelled and resubmitted my DSL application about 4 times due to confusion form one call centre operator to the next, etc. etc. I am still waiting for DSL. Apparently, they realised after testing my residential line about a month ago (it was excellent) for DSL, they don't have enough DSLAM ports at the exchange, hence another project was launched. It's just been completed, so I'm waiting for "conformance testing", and then expect the next problem to pitch. My date (sounds like a pregnancy date) is now 29 July. What I'm saying is, don't hold your horses, you're only going to frustrate yourself. Don't even buy a modem/router yet, there'll probably be something better on the market by the time you get it.
