hey guys yesterday i bought a new VM prepaid package. now i'm still waiting to receive the damn internet settings. in about 2 hours from now, it would be exactly 24hours after my first request (via the VM menu of phone) for the internet settings. argg what else can i do? does it usually take this long?

Phone 123, ask them to send it to you ;) Secondly, try making a "chargeable" call, phone a friend and let him pick up the phone and talk for about 5 seconds. You need to make a chargeable call before you can send sms's and "use' the simcard basically ;)

Hi KaRpiX,

i apologise for the inconvinience please PM me you number and the model of phone you are using so that i can send the settings to your immediately.

I got my new phone 2 days ago, still waiting for the settings. I made a plan and entered the stuff myself. And I've had my VM SIM for a while now, so I just do it myself. For anyone wanting to know, here are the custom settings:

Proxy: 196.116.31.241
Port: 8080
Access Point: vdata
Data bearer: Packet Data
Account Name: WAP-GPRS
User name: leave blank
Password: leave blank
Authentication type: Normal
Homepage: http://www.virginmobile.co.za

MMS settings are basically the same, except:

Account Name: vmms
Proxy: 196.116.31.242
Server address: mail.cmobile.co.za (I think, haven't tested yet)

Good luck
