wake up iburst

i cancelled iburst about a week ago, and ordered closer 4 - self install, it's up and running already. telkom also include a wireless modem & dect phone for free!! as much as i hate Telkom, i am pretty chuffed with their offer as it does not bind me into any contract. so if iburst, gts or neotel can do better i'll just move!

but i will absolutely not sign a contract with any of them.

I was actually wondering if there is in fact no contract at all with self install (free modem/router looked like a contract deal) and with your Closer package.

I thought somewhere in there Telkom might squeeze in some fine print about 24 months.. it doesn't look like it though.

This way I could actually switch between iBurst one month and Telkom another.. if I really wanted to for some reason :/
 
Tonight my browsing speeds are pathetic and my downloads (rapidshare) are taking ages to start but reach good speed after about a min or so, could be a dud bunch of IPs' I'm getting unless others are having a similar problem.

I was getting quite a bit of packet loss on both local and international earlier. Browsing has had some problems too, I did change my IP but it didn't help much.

Just did a few pings and things seem a better now though..
 
The past week has been hit-n-miss as far as a decent connection goes, seemed better yesterday and earlier today but now it's intermittent as far as browsing speeds go with slow download starting times.

Looks like tomorrow I'll have to move a PC and connect to utTraceStar to see if anything has changed my side since EHV says it's "better now"
 
Most likely, we had problem earlier this week.. but this doesn't seem major. Still had a bit of packet loss pinging Google though.

I've sent through my cancellation for end of April (sent to Sonette Louw and cc'd Thami Mtshali). Even had a return reply from Thami asking to reconsider. Sent an e-mail explaining why I saw Telkom ADSL as greater value for money and asking him to reply if he could convince me otherwise. No reply since March 15.

I will be applying for self install this week.
