Hi All

So we generally get the opportunity to water ski during December and I always wanted to try wake boarding.
Is there a general or specific size board that we can buy that can be used by my friends and myself, I'm about 1.8m @ 85+kg?
Also does anyone know how the cable water ski setup at warmbaths work?
Can you bring you own board, try wake boarding there etc?

I cannot comment on wakeboarding, but I could take my own kiteboard to Warmbaths or use their wakeboards. I spent a few days there during a week a few years ago - was the only one there for hours on end. Apparently busier over weekends. Just phone Warmbaths before you go to confirm their opening times and that everything is functional.

You can get general boards but they usually have a size range for weight and the adjustable bindings.

If you are all guys not too far off weight and feet size wise it will be fine.

I went wakeboarding recently and one of the guys I went with brought a kite board with him. It was so much better than the usual wakeboard I first used. Firstly, the skegs were a lot smaller meaning you had more freedom of movement from side to side. The wakeboard took (me) more effort to turn, making me more tired more quickly. Also, the kiteboard had foot braces that you strap yourself into, versus the 'slop' like foot holds of the wakeboard. This made it easier to stand with your weight more evenly distributed and meant there wasn't so much weight on the back foot which absolutely knackers your quad.

If you are looking to buy a board, I recommend a kiteboard over a wakeboard any day.
