Hi all.
I've been really keen to get MyWireless but it's been an uphill battle, bordering on epic proportions, with Sentech [B)]
I'll probably be rich someday when I sell the movie rights to this saga [8D] Anyway, I'm hoping someone here can help me out.
To cut a long story short, I'm in a partial signal area and was afraid to apply for the service because I didn't want to be contractually bound to something when I didn't know if I'd get a workable signal or not. Legally I'm sure they couldn't hold me to it, but I wanted to be sure.
I've called Sentech CS somewhere between 10 and 15 times in the last few weeks and have gotten some really creative and interesting answers to this question - they can be grouped as follows:
1) We'll send out some people to check the signal, but we'll call you back once we've confirmed with HQ on this
2) We'll arrange a test modem to check the signal, but we'll call you back once we've confirmed with HQ on this
3) No refund, and you will be contractually bound signal or not. It's a real gamble, and we advise you to avoid the service until you have full signal.
4) There's a 7 day money-back guarantee. No problemo.
Replies 1 and 2 I'm still waiting for, been over a month now. Have not even had a call back yet. Reply 4 seems to be nothing but spin.
Replies in category 3 were amazing. Here I have people telling me to avoid their product? That's a new experience for me.
On this forum, Greedyflyza had the following to say to another user:
"You can cancel the contract within 14 days but you don't get R570 back. I say rather ask someone (nicely) in your area to bring the modem to your house to test."
So, this is me, asking nicely if anyone is kind enough to have mercy on my CS-scarred soul... I'm in Bedfordview, about 1 minute drive from Bedford Centre, and about 4 minutes drive from Eastgate. Is anyone in the area able to help me find out if I have signal? I know this is asking a lot, but I'm desperate [
]
If not, I might just go ahead and order the service. I'll try cancel it if it doesn't work out... but my experience with CS so far has been pretty disgusting, so I'm really not keen on this.
Otherwise, I'd really appreciate any ideas on what else I could try from here.
Thanks.
