Well, you've pretty much got 2 options. The el-cheapo Curves (nice phones, never-the-less) or the higher end Bolds (9700 or 9780). So the choice is pretty much dependent on our price range.

I'm sitting with the same choice - get an el cheapo Curve (Can get a 1 week old white 8520 for R1300, or an older 9300 for the same price...)

Or go up in price and features for the newest Bold, but you're paying a premium for a (somewhat) better screen and some extra MP in the camera. And the 9900 is taking forever to be launched...

I want to stay away from the Torch, heard too many horror stories! Doesn't stop the wife from wanting one however! But the new one is just around the corner as well!

When, oh when, are we going to see a BB version of the Touch Pro2 or Dream/G1? I'd buy that if it had QNX on it...

chris2.0, stick with the Bold. Better device for sure. Better build quality, better specs. Read the post re the open letter from a RIM employee. I'm somewhat hesitant to trust equipment designed and manufactured by disgruntled emplyees trying to bring about changes in management. But the 9780 is a very well designed and made device.
