So does anyone know where I can send my phone to have the USB port on it completely replaced with a new one? Preferably around Johannesburg. It's broken, so my computer no longer detects it when plugged in, it still charges though, strange enough.

Have you tried it on another computer? If it works on a different computer then you can try something different.

I have had the case where USB devices are not detected, I uninstall all the USB drivers in device manager, restart and all sorted.
Doesnt happen that often but solves the problem.

Unfortunately, I wouldnt know where to send you for the repair ... good luck.

Haven't tried it on a different computer, but it's definately not the drivers causing the issue.

Does it still charge? What phone is it?

Its a Samsung Galaxy Y. Not sure if you can call it charging, but it does respond to being plugged into the charger. It however does not show the charging battery icon. Just switches on and displays the Samsung logo. I soft bricked it, so now I'm trying to flash stock rom but Windows has refuses to recognise it, drivers and all
