Hi, i bought a lot of items from banggood but they took 90+ days to my local post office. THX for link, i'll keep this in mind.

The tax free option is not through SAPO. They use Buffalo. Only takes 2 weeks or so. My last order left CN 13/12 and is currently passing CBCU (hopefully they have had their Christmas party and clear it quickly). The one before is on it's way to my local PEP store. Cleared CBCU in 7 working days.

Thx i'll check it out, but it is a big risk buying a board from outside our country regarding shipping damage.

If it ships with Buffalo you are safe. They use courier services all the way. Once in SA, they hand over the parcel to a local courier such as Fastway to do the last mile delivery.

Takes about 2-3 weeks

I think i better start saving for a printer with power resume option because of all the load shedding, my anet a8 is 4 years old now.

Is there even such an option? :unsure: Doesn't make sense if there is, since the pla would cool down where it was busy printing, essentially effing up whatever you were printing anyway...
 
Resume option on some Creality printers, but with my budget i'll keep looking for a good used mobo.
 
@CellBel: What is the problem with the current motherboard? Faults on that motherboard are usually related to one or more of the A4988 stepper motor driver chips. There is a lot of information online about how to repair this board. It seems that the stepper motor driver chip costs around R45 locally from diyelectronics or possibly cheaper if you look around.

1) Motherboard does not switch cooling fan anymore, i use a separate 12v supply with switch for fan cos i only print pla.
2) Replaced the sd card socket, but with my eyes (68 winters behind them) i messed up the soldering and tracks. I print from pc now but i prefer sd card printing.
 
That sounds like the IRLR7843PbF Hexfet is damaged? It's shouldn't cost much.

Any TV or radio repair shop should be able to fix the SD card socket pretty easily - Even if large parts of the tracks are missing it shouldn't be difficult to connect small wires to the socket and solder them to the broken traces. Just ask around at a few TV repair places and somebody might be prepared to fix it for you for a small fee.

Aren't there any Pakistani cell phone repair shops nearby? Those guys even do cell phone screen repairs. I'm sure they will do the repairs for a small fee. Just shop around to get the best price. Try to order the spares beforehand if necessary and tell them what you need replaced.

I would recommend using a magnifying glass if you are having problems with seeing the small traces. You can purchase ones on a stand that should make things a lot easier to see. Even the factories use magnifying equipment to check the joints on some of the small surface mount components.

OK thx, i've ordered & paid for a board at banggood but they took my money first then told me the item is out of stock and i'll receive a tracking nr as soon as it is back in stock. I think Buffalo will do the shipping.
