I am looking for a motherboard for a LGA 1155 socket which is reasonably priced in the durban area.

Anybody have any contacts for this?

These guys have all sorts of old hardware, and recently got a 1155 board from them cheap-cheap, although it had no backplate, it has a 12 month warranty. While they don't list all the old hardware or secondhand stuff they may have, definitely worth it to pop them an email and ask for stuff you may need you never know. Peace of mind especially with secondhand hardware is bonus, however you will be paying slightly more then you would on carbonite or else where, unlikely you will strike a bargain, but does the job fine.

As far as I am aware they still have First Gen Icore boards ;)

They be smoking some of the best stuff I reckon, judging from what they sell, the older 2nd hand stuff must be stooopid expensive too

Like I said mate, it isn't exactly cheap, but if you need EOL hardware, are you going to look a gift horse in the mouth.I paid R500 bucks for gigabyte B75M ATX board with a 12 month warranty, if you can find it cheaper by al means inform us here as well.Besides this is a business like any other business, this isn't some lackey selling his stuff on a website, without having to concern him self with tax, business rent ect, and the fact that they offer from 3 months of warranty on secondhand stuff.

To be honest so what if the ask an arm and a leg, it's niche market for EOL stuff they carry all the risk with older hardware.

This is only new one I believe you'll get locally, it's a very basic motherboard though but that might be fine depending on what you need it for.

Otherwise just keep your eyes open on Carbonite (though these boards tend to sell very quickly) or if you want something specific you can always use Ebay.

I Just got one these last week ... only to find it was not my motherboard that was faulty in the first place. So OP, Im in Pinetown, if you want my MSI H61 (Brand new, never used) that I paid R900 for. Make me an offer...

I might have one at home, not sure if it's a 1150 or 1155.. still brand new.. Will let you know later today or by tomorrow.

thanks everyone for your replies.

Ideally the motherboard needs to have the following:

2 x PCI slots
1 x PCIe x16

It looks like that MSI doesn't have PCI slots.

I have a POV GT630 2GB in the PCIe x16, 6 HDD (4 on motherboard and 2 in SATA expander card in one PCI) and a Asus Xonar DG in another PCI which feeds my z5500's

sorry meant to remove that, think it actually picked up a LGA 1150 board not a 1155... still the best bet would be OLX or Gumtree or maybe BidorBuy but that's all importing and waiting 6000 days for delivery

Micropoint has a few 1155 boards with different specs they clearing out.. micropointsa.co.za call them
