Wonder how many of us trudge to work everyday - thinking about having a go at self-employment. You have a good job, the security of having a paycheck at the end of the month probably is enough for most but I can't be the only one feeling you need just a little more in life while you have a chance to change it - before it's really too late. Maybe after retirement you try something to keep your mind from going to jelly.
There are a lot of people with serious skills on the forums, looking for work. They don't try anything themselves? Anyone can buy a ready-made website with Esquire VRN, franchise or whatnot. Pretty piss simple and lazy. I'm talking a genuine developed idea or product.Maybe you have a good idea - found a gap in the market, something that could work but there are so many "other" daunting factors to consider. Most tech people are probably absolutely useless at sales, don't give toss about accounts, bank balance won't buy you a power supply, have no corporate people skills, afraid I guess... Just too many overheads and it's a serious jump in the river to see if you can float! I'm totally guessing but small startup's begin with a group of "friends" with an idea and each one has their own skill-set to make it work. For those trying it on their own, well I can imagine a really near impossible task. I looked - I cannot find any postings for start-up's, new ideas, proposals - guess we way too afraid of failure and lack of trust. Has anyone tried anything?
