Hi all.
I want to create a wireless network at home. I have a wireless router (the type that needs a hardline), I have an iBurst Wireless modem and I have a rarely used desktop PC.

Any suggestions on how to create a network in my home, so that I dont have to plug and unplug my laptop everytime, or so that I can use more than one laptop on the network.

Thanks.

Is the iburst modem usb?

This is my setup:

Pc1
Pc2
ps3
Laptop1
Wireless Router

So how I connect is :

Laptop has the iburst connected 24/7 but the laptop uses a cable to the wireless router. My pc1 and pc2 connect wireless through the router. Set the iburst to auto dial on internet request so there is no need to do anything except turn on the laptop.

My suggetion to you: Use the spare desktop pc, connect the iburst modem to it. Install and made sure the iburst connects on that pc. Then, in network adapter settings, you share the iburst connection. So long as your spare PC and other computers are connected to the wireless router (via cable or wireless, doesnt matter) your DHCP should resolve and you should have internet for anyone that connects to the wireless network even a ps3 will connect.

I perfer setting my own IPs (ie. no DHCP - I hate it), and if that is how you want to do it, let me know.

You can also connect the two machines together with a Cross Over UTP Cable and bridge the Internet Connection with your Iburst USB Modem.

I have two routers to choose from - one is a telkom premium combo router, the other is a netgear 802.11 router.

I've tried: connecting the USB modem to the PC, connects to iburst, however, the IP's conflict because the USB needs to be 196.168.0.1, and the router also wants to be the same IP.
