Waranty advice!

Hi dudes...so I got my car back, and when I bought it I took out an extended waranty with IRBI Mech, ever heard of 'em?

I called them about a month ago, transfered to the call centre and my call was recorded. I asked how the claim procedure works, and they explained that I must take the car to an approved mechanic, let him do the work, pay him and then claim from IRBI Mech.

When I read through my waranty book (for the 1st time) I read a totally different claim story!!!

It states that the claim will be void if I DON'T call them first!

It states, I must call them when the car brakes, they will give me a mechanic to take the car to, I doubt they know good Alfa mechanics better than I do, then they will inspect the parts and then do the claim. This is totally different from what the dude at the call centre said!

I've paid the mechanic, and now I'ma call the waranty to see how much of the R1750 cover I can claim. I see nothing of paying for labour in the waranty book...can I claim for that as weel, or is the R1750 cover also for the labour???

Any help or advice as to how to deal with these bastards please?;)

I would not have paid the mechanic. I would have made him claim from the warranty directly.

Maybe its just me. But when it comes to anything waranty or insurance related I ONLY deal with the Insurance/Warranty people. If I have a problem with the mechanic, I phone the warranty people.

Claiming money back from these people has always proven to be a headache. The mechanic rips you off, the warranty refuses to pay. You lose. If you make the mechanic deal directly with the warranty people, they fight it out themselves. That way you get what you need without being ripped off by both.

Honestly, unless you have the copy of the recording you have nothing. I would play dumb when it comes to what the waranty book says.
Try and get through to the person you dealt with before, they obviously don't know the procedure and might just put your entire claim through.
