They most likely played on a non official server which does not check how legal your warcraft copy is.

As far as i know you need to enter a key to play warcraft on a legal server, you get the key with the game you buy.

well...there is a wc server in SA. It's not hosted by blizzard but by some ppl who want to allow us to play online without having the lag due to shaping. It's not legal to do this but blizzard refuses to host a local server in SA. That server doesn't have checks on whether ur copy of wc is original or not.

I play on the local server. I own the actual game and expansion, but if blizzard want me to play on an international server with 1000+ latency they can go @#$% themselves

send a pm to me if u want the details to the local server. Don't think I'm allowed to post it.

Play on legit EU servers with 300 to 500 latency. No negative impact at all in game. Your latency excuse is lame.

So you don't have a problem with stealing something if you want it but can't afford it ?

Sorry zippy I will have to dissagree with you.
Have you ever played Dota?
If you have you will see that it is a w3 map that relies on quick fast responses and unfortunately 300-500ms will not cut it.
You can say what you want about it being enough but from 200ms upwards it starts to affect your gameplay.

I know this because I have played a few international Dota games and it is ****, they can't compare with a latency of about 50-100ms sorry.

Yeah, games like dota require low latency to play and 300-500ms just does not cut it. It's really not blizzard's fault but Telkom's shaping policies. Still having a local server is nevertheless a good idea.

What about the ppl who buy original wc games but can't have the benefit of bnet?
