Warne is playing mind games again!

Great cricketer, but a idiot of note when he opens his mouth, or switches on his cell phone. Oh, and when mommies little boy takes medicine from mommy. Hmmm maybe he's just a plain simple drugs cheat.

Warne initially claimed that he took only one of what he called a "fluid tablet" – the prescription drug Moduretic — on David Stretton's suggestion, in an attempt to improve his appearance (Warne has battled weight problems throughout his career). Warne claimed ignorance of the banned nature of the tablet he took, as well as much of the drug policy of the Australian Cricket Board (despite extensive briefings on the matter in the past). It should however be noted that this drug is a known masking agent for anabolic steroids, and many accused Warne of using the banned substances to recover from a shoulder injury which had side-lined him at the time. ......................................In the end, the panel found Warne guilty of breaching the ACB's drug code, and imposed a one-year ban. It was further revealed, and confirmed by Warne in a subsequent television interview, that he had actually taken two of the pills. Warne's testimony, and that of his mother, was described by the panel as "vague and inconsistent".

I wonder how many games he tossed?

In 1998, Warne admitted that he and Mark Waugh had taken money from a man known only as John, who was later discovered to be operating with bookmakers. The money was stated to be for pitch and weather reports.

Just as he shoud keep his dck in his pants, he should keep his words on mouth!
Further allegations of Warne having extra-marital affairs broke in 2005 as Australia began its tour of England in preparation for The Ashes. On 25 June 2005, Warne and his wife Simone Callahan announced that they had decided to separate.
On 7 May 2006, the News of the World tabloid newspaper published pictures of Warne standing in his underpants with a pair of 25-year-old models, as well as explicit text messages allegedly from Warne.

:D :D :D ;)

I think SA has a good enough chance but it's never wise to underestimate the Aussies - especially when it comes to Cricket. They may have lost form and they may have lost Brett Lee but we've seen time and again how good they are at bouncing back. I also think they still have a 'mental hold' on South Africa - though it's something we can overcome as we proved in the 438 game.

If he was not worried he'd have not mentioned New Zealand.. but after getting their a$$ handed to them he says those teams are threats ? Me thinks he is trying to divert attention.. In the world cup if Aussies are to fall out prior to semi's chances are it will be vs Nz/windies/pakistan(u never know ;))/india or srilanka.. odds are we won't face them again after the group match until semi's or finals. And of cause warne is from the 1999 world cup old school squad so he'd hate to say SA might smack them all over the show. Its the austrailian way of reducing your compettiors before competing. They will no doubt bring up 1999 world cup and term chockers.. just wait and see.

Aussies always gunna put in a few digs, especially before WC. Yeh, sledging will be there - its no different to any other match/game, all teams give a bit in every series.

I seem to remember another loud mouth saying someting about being a thrid world country with thrid rate players

sadly no.... it was someone in the crowd when SA took on Oz in their (SA) first world cup, back in 96 (I think) - anyway SA beat Australia in that match

Sadly SA were knocked out by England with a rain affected match that was going SA's way, but then as the overs came down they had to get 22 runs off one ball - After this the Duckworth - Lewis method was introduced

But then there was the match (last WC) in Durban when Mark Boucher thought it was done and dusted, only to find that this was not the case, and who can forget Mr Donald dropping his bat

This has to be the one surely

i think they runing out of things to fowl up.. then again there is the new bowl out rule (will we see it this world cup) but with third umpires now given the ability to overturn umpire decisions u neva know(catches, bump ball catches, wicket keeper types)

This has to be the one surely

I agree with you here.

I dont think Australia will win, based on my 'law of averages' theory.

I'll anxious to see what the pitches will be like, might be a few surprises in those.

I think that SA just had a lot of misfortune when it came to world cups.

  • '92: From 22 off 13 balls, to 22 off 7 balls to 22 off 1 ball
  • '99: Draw in what is still one of the best ODI matches, Aus go through on a system where previous result affects current result.
  • '03: Another rain affected match, D/L misinterpreted. Resulted in sacking of captain.

The only one that in which they were beaten without any of these weird circumstances was in '96 against the WI.

For Warne to write SA off considering their current form, and further speak about which teams have a chance against Aus considering THEIR current form certainly shows a bit of arrogance. As good as he is, he certainly acts a little retarded when it comes to speaking about his opinion. You cannot write off ANY team in a world cup, anyone can take it.
