I'd just like to post this as a form of information to those who are currently on Afrihost bundles, as I have had such an endless nightmare with my pricing structure and the support people who attempted to help me.
It seems that with the introduction of new bundle packages/pricing, some of the old packages that are phased out no longer get recognised by their system. What then happened to me was that even though they reduced their prices, I did not automatically get put onto the new pricing structure, because my package "no longer existed". Now, Afrihost will not check this and let you know, you have to stumble upon this yourself.
I am on a 20mb VDSL + 82gb package, and I am currently paying R647/pm. Now, if you go onto Afrihost's website, you'll see that the 20mb VDSL + 75gb/75gb package is only marginally more than this, at R654/pm. However, the 50gb/50gb packages do not exist for 20mb VDSL anymore. If I opt to buy these separately, the cost is R425/pm for the line and R199/pm for the 100gb of capped data, for a total of R624/pm. This begs the question, why am I on a bundle if I'm paying more than what I would be even not bundled? It's because of this phasing out error and their system not recognising your package anymore.
I went through 6 support staff in tickets and not a single one of them understood why this was a problem. In fact, they continued to state that my price would be something that did not agree with their website too. (Support does not know the correct prices?)
Here is an exact quote I received:
"In regards to your request the new bundled package price will be R667 (R199.00 for 82GB capped account and R499.00 for Up to 20Mbps Line with a R51.00 bundle discount)."
So they were happy to give me prices that were not even current to their website pricing.
Just a warning to those if you notice your bundle is phased out at some point in time. Over a week later, the issue was only resolved by someone upgrading me to a new package - they will not refund you despite their system billing you incorrectly. Furthermore, the prices quoted to you in the Clientzone will be incorrect too if you choose to simply unbundle your package.
