Warning about using MTN Prepaid Sim for Afrihost Data

Should be possible to send some airtime (I think R5 or R10 is minimum, bank depending) to the mobile number from your internet banking app so ... there is no need for the device to do anything. I'm sure that would qualify as Loading airtime.
Just a thought.

You do realise this is being used in a device which can't do what you are asking?
If you are unable to comprehend the OP/My question then it is perhaps better to park it here and I'll take it up with someone else.

Stick it in a phone every 80 days. It’s not difficult.

@Herr der Verboten If you will be using an OPT-IN SIM Card for an Afrihost Air Mobile package, you will need to ensure that there is activity on the SIM Card that MTN recognises. This is to avoid the SIM Card from being deactivated.

MTN Network Activity:
- Loading airtime
- Sending out SMSes
- Making or receiving calls

When you get the mobile MTN SIM from us, it is not subjected to deactivation; we send R2.36 to the client's sims after 80-something days to prevent it from being cancelled.
So this is where that R2.36 comes from, awesome

If you don't want to go through all that admin, get an LTE SIM or a mobile SIM directly from Afrihost.
They do have an option for you to get a sim from them. You chose not to. Then play by MTN rules.
No it just needs to be allocated as a data sim by Afrihost. I have 4 data sims from 2016 still going strong and I don't use them much. The normal voice sim was lost a few years ago already when the number got reallocated.
Which couldn't be brought up by the rep? Anyways rep has been reported. I'm exiting this loop.

This is why I don't prefer texting when it comes to other queries. It is easy to misinterpret text, we just read what we want to hear at that time.
