If you are a fan of healthy frozen mixed vegetables like I am, Stay away from Nature's Garden Country mix vegetables.
It's got only a smal branch of broccoli and cauliflower. And about 10% green beans, with 85% - 88% of carrots. With almost no marrows.

Guys, carrots cost like R10 for a lot.
Don't buy this product thinking it's got fair amount of the veggies.
And it's R37 or R23 on sale. What a rip off!!!!

Guys, if you know any other foods that are currently ripping us off, Comment and let us know.

Thanks

First off, who are "us"?

Secondly, at the low 95% carrot content and 10% green beans, there would be no place for any other veggies in the packet. I don't think you are getting ripped off as you are already getting 50g-80g more veggies in a packet of 1KG.

I would dare you to make a video of you opening a sealed packet and dumping the contents for us to see this "1 branch of broccoli and cauliflower". What about the baby marrows, peas or corn that are usually found in the packets too?

As for healthy, go buy fresh veggies and cook them yourself. That way you know what you get. IQF veggies are like a lucky-packet, you get what you get.

Plus one for the video.

Seems you're getting ripped off there aswell. At my local fresh fruit and veg market it's about R4/R5 for a pack.

No offence guy, I buy frozen mixed veggies every week. Don't preach to the choir because I know what I got.
I think McCain is a better product with fair amount of Veggies....

You don't expect me to make a video of something I already dumped into my sweet potato meal.

Exactly @backstreetboy.. A pack of carrots for R5 is a lot in one pack. Compared to this country mix.

Do you work for Nature's Garden or just throlling?

Thats nice pumpkin...

I also buy Nature Garden on occasion and have never had an issue with the quantities for the different veg inside.

I know that since I don't agree with you, I must of course work for them, but its a pretty crappy job if I don't get paid for it and I still have to buy the product just like you plebs.

God forbid that someone could make an individual buying decision without involving the internet.

I bought some AccuCheck sugar sticks for my dad yesterday at a pharmacy. They charged me R194.
The product costs R130 everywhere else. Is there something in place to regulate these people or... must I just accept this?

Nobody forced you to buy from them, willing buyer & seller. You could have gone elsewhere but you didn't.

I am starting to fight back...
Because this is getting a tad bit ridiculous...

I asked her why it's so expensive, she told me:

I must keep in mind that they are only 5 people working there.
They are the only pharmacy that is open until 9:30pm as per their working hours.
She told me that because they are open until 9:30, as per their business hours, they consider it as overtime.

It was too late and sugar sticks are a necessity.
The point I was tying to get across is that the average market price is R130 and that I don't agree with her reasons.

What a lame excuse... wish I was there to give them a piece of my mind.

They must sell at the same price and close at the same time as all the other places, right?

Since they mustn't recoup the costs of staying open later, it's their only choice.

Given the extended hours, I would have expected a price premium, but nearly 32% is a bit extreme if you ask me.

Somebody had to know that they were running out so you could have restocked before running out giving you ample time. Food is also a necessity that doesn't mean woolies is gonna charge you the same price as checkers for the same item.

Yeah, Woolies can often be cheaper.. I mean wtf thought up their business model :p
