A friendly warning to those who may find themselves in the same position
I rented out a townhouse about four months ago, at the time I was not sure if my prospective tenant would pay me timeously every month, so I contacted Ensurent to vett my tenant, this was done and the guy checked out, I paid for this service, and registered as a landlord, also paid for the service.
The tenant did not want to pay through ensurent, and so we agreed that he pay me directly each month, which he has been doing religiously.
I informed ensurent telephonically that I would not require their services and left it at that.
Four months later, they tell me that a services agreement was signed and that to cancel it I have to pay 80% of the agreement, over R1000. ( On the agreement I never indicated which services I wanted from them )
I have to pay, but they rendered no services
I have paid them now and cancelled the agreement, I don't have the energy to fight it any further
Just a warning to those who want to do business with Ensurent
P.S - They expect your tenant to sign a debit order allowing them to debit his account with a variable amount - which person in their right mind would sign something like that
