I have a 70 fury warior on Aszune.

I hit 70 about two weeks ago, and I'm still using the swords I got from honour hold when I came to outland. Problem is there are no swords dropping that seem to be better than what I've got. I have collected a fair number of better daggers though.

Will daggers be better/worse for a dps warrior than swords?

twiga,

I was thinking the same last night as I was playing my warrior alt. However mine was more in the region of tanking with a dagger.

As protection spec one generates rage on hits scored also. Currently I have a 2.9 main hand sword. And my rage is ok for taking. I was wondering what a quick dagger would do to my rage.

Pls if anyone knows help with these 2 questions :)

Tanking with daggers are a big no no.

Firstly there are no daggers for tanking (provides no defense). Secondly...I happened to have been in a raid group with the main tank with a dagger -.-

Me being a mage was NOT impressed...died almost all mobs. Just can't hold aggro.

He has The Sun Eater sword now :) So I'm willing to raid with him again :p

For offhand weapon a dagger is really nice (asp if you can find one with +hit and about 1.5 to 2 x the speed of your mainhand weapon). Special attacks from a warrior is based on the mainhand weapon, so the slower the weapon the more damage you deal. The offhand being faster will help you generate a bit more rage, and since it is the offhand it have a much higher chance to miss anyway. For rogues or shaman this does not work the same though.

I would strongly sugest that you improve your weapons as fast as possible though, warriors are highly dependant on their weapons! Maybe try and get some pvp weapons till you can get decent pve ones?

As for tanking, I have no problem with using a dagger with some expertise rating on them, as long as the warrior have sufficient defence and other stats elsewhere. The better tanking weapons out there are reaching dagger speeds anyway. But for asthetic reasons I will not wear a dagger with my shield!

Another thing I've noticed. Why are there so few undead warriors ? They look awesome as tanks, but I have only seem 2 in my whole WoW game playing time. A friend of mine, and I rolled one now. 90% of them are Taurens and 8% Orc's and trolls

Okay,

I'm still not understanding the whole proc rate thingy, but I'll go look into it.

Ced's Carver dropped for me last week. So would this do as a nice offhand weapon?

Also, at about level 60-65 I was always on top in damage meter. These days (as a result of my weapons no-doubt), I'm either third or fourth, and it becomes a bit difficult to advertise yourself as a DPS in LFG :(

My crit is 24% in zerk stance, but I tend to miss A LOT, thus contributing to my lack of damage.

Any quick fixes to get me top of the DPS charts again?

I had the same problem on my rogue. A respec and +Hit fixed that no problem.
There is also a nice head enchant you can get from Cenarion Expedition in Zanger which gives alot of Agility & +hit.

For the off hand you need to get +Hit up as much as you can ;)

Only fix is to get plus hit (warriors need about 200 hit rating if I am not mistaken?).
Cant remember the stats on Ced's carver (and cant follow that link from work) but I think I had it on my warrior for a very brief period from 66-67 not to sure. There should be some more decent blue quest rewards out there that are very easy to get, but to get back ontop of damage meters, you would need to upgrade to epic gear, use the best gems and enchants etc. Warriors are the most gear dependant class in this game, there simply is not fast fix for your dps problems all the fixes are slow and costly.

Tanking: Get the Reputation Sword from SSO - lovely tanking blade called Inuuro's blade or something.

As for DPS: As dual wielding warriors you have your 2 basic cliques.

Fast offhand/Slow mainhand - these are the rage spammers that basically go with Heroic Strike spam and white hits for their primary damage source

Slow Mainhand-Slow offhand - these are the flurry fury warriors. Whirlwind - white hit - heroic strike spammers maximizing flurry efficiency by not wasting any flurry charges within 3 seconds on a weapon that swings way too fast. Using both hands with the same weapon speed means those flurry charges go for extra attacks for both hands and can mean quite a load more dps from your Whirlwind

Generally if your DPS begins trailing you need to stack more Hit. 200+ if possible even. ( 260 being close to capping hit )

Personally i prefer slow/slow weapons as i NEVER get rage starved. Daggers are meant for rogues to build combopoints. I could link you talent builds for maximizing fury dps aswell as some good rotations you could use.

Lastly weapons - fantastic dps weapons
If you really want an instance set - the blue swords from Mgt and BM are quite tit though the best blades by far for quite some time would be the S1/S2 PVP blades, cheap, have a bit of hit and nice stats - and the speed is perfect
I've seen BT rogues still using those blades as offhanders for the stats

Why would you loose flurry charges by a weapon that swings way to fast? Isn't faster _always_ better. I'm still noob with all things wow.

Why would you get extra attacks when using swords that have the same speed?

Please do! Here is my current tree: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Aszune&n=Twiga

Help, I'm so confused!

U dont loose flurry charges, you rather waste some extra charges on a weapon that does lesser damage.
i.e. Your main hand have a 3.0 speed while your offhand have a 1.0 speed, thus for each hit on your main hand your offhand will hit 3 times. So something like this, 400 120 120 120 400 120 120 120 400....
With a slower off hand there will be less 120s between the big hits, ideal for flurry.

Okay flurry - increases melee weapon swing speed and charges for flurry are used up by swings.

If you use weapons with the same swing speed you'll usually get off spare swings as the charges dont get deducted per weapon but per swing. ( taking 2.5 seconds to swing 2 weapons simultaneously ) - this counts as 1 swing

However if you use weapons with different swing speeds the flurry charges get spent up per weapon swing, eating away at that precious speed boost and possible bonus swings u may have gotten at the accelerated speed :) ( 1 weapon taking 2.5 seconds to swing and the other 1.7 for instance ) - this counts as 2 swings - offhand and mainhand

BTW im on the same server :)

Okay I think I get it. So same weapons speeds is good for flurry, doesn't matter if the weapons speed is slow or fast, as long as they are the same?

What faction? :P

Yes...though a note is also the harder the top-end damage on the weapon the better your whirlwind damage..thus the slow/slow warrior is a whirlwind machine
Slow/Fast is more like a wannabe rogue *stab stab stab stab*

Meh got toons on both sides. War's alliance :)

Eek poor you :D well dude poke me ingame and i'll give you some help :)

Same name as im using here ^ :)

I actually think paladins are but okay...

Matter of opinion ;) Warriors of all three trees are really gear dependant to be in the top 5 dps positions or to tank well. Paladins have same gear restrictions when it comes to tanking but have it a lot easier to find gear to heal in. For retri paladins there is no gear good eneugh to put them at the top :p
