How are they doing these days?? I am thiking if leveling my old lvl 51 warrior again but i havent been on for long... are they still awsum?

They not doing to bad provided you go with Arms.
Don't expect to be a "plate wearing rogue" and dont expect to top the DPS in raids, but overall they not bad (still one of the most fun classes to play).

EDIT : you can top the dps if you have BiS gear...

Titan build on Fury is quite nice since you can weild two 2-handed weapons which puts out quite impressive dps! Try a Fury warrior, they are the most fun (if you dont want to tank).

I'm leveling a Warrior and I die like there's no tomorrow (in the last 30 min probably 12 times)

My armor is 1.1k (I'm level 18) and with everything in Fury (3/3 Armored to the Teeth. 5/5 Cruelty. 1/5 Unbridled Wrath)

What is a good strategy in a fighting sequence? I usually die because of mobs running away and getting like 3 buddies, but there's those instances where they bitchslap the hell out of me.

I usually charge (from as far as possible for max rage) and then Rend/Heroic Strike. I shield bash as soon as I see a heal spell try to go off and Overpower whenever I get the chance before I do Heroic Strike. However, sometimes I cant seem to get my Rage up enough (or quick enough) and other times it seems that it's too easy (those times are rare though)

I've started using Battle Shout as well (I have the Glyph) and I also have the Glyph of Heroic Strike.

Any advice? What + items on my armor and weapons should I look out for when building up a decent Warrior?

I think the first few levels of a warrior is hell.

HOWEVER, why are you not using hamstring on mobs that run? You get this lovely spell at level 8...ALSO why not use revenge (its stun) on mobs that turn to run away? This is a level 10 ability...

Bloodrage for rage at the tough times, you get this level 10.

A warrior, is mainly based at how good you can manage all the abilities you get. It is a class centered around this, and its not easy to master the use of all of them 100%. But what can I say, I only ever leveled a warrior to level 27 and that was 2 years ago.

For that I need to be in defensive stance, I'm currently on Battle Stance.

I do use Hamstring *if* they run. No worries about that, it's just I misjudge my aggro as well and charge seems to get the aggro going quite a bit.

I'm thinking of swopping the Battle Glyph for Bloodrage, then I can use the ability without the health penalty, think it would help me more than the +38 Attack

That's a really good idea, but you should speak to your guild's best warriors (that is if you are in a guild) they should give you great tips as I'm not really a warrior and more of a priest :)

I leveled my warrior up to level 62 using Fury and i suffered every step of the way. I eventually gave up and made a Druid alt. When i later found out that Fury was not a very good leveling spec i changed to Protection and have not looked back since. I suggest you go with protection all the way. If you want to dps arms is also better than Fury unless you have a high hit rating which is only really at level 80.

That's my advice use it if you want.

I'm my own guild. Thus I am the only Warrior in my Guild.

Will look at going Prot a bit later, just 3/4 more level to go to 20 before I level my lock to 20. Prepping for the patch where those chars get mounts @ level 20. Should make leveling faster

lool... im 52 now, when i was lvl 1-35 i wanted to cry most of the time, its fun yes..but crap!! then at 40 i went prot and OMG it was so much beta!! I also leveled a priest to 70but i stoped just befor Wotlk. I love my warrior at the level i am now but from what i hurd Outlands is a MOFO when it comes to this clas... I normaly use devistate, hami, revenge, herioc strike, shield slam. My crits are up2 1000. So im good :). Befor Wotlk warriors used to pwn!! I remember when i saw a warrior i had two options... Run Away... or play dead!

My warrior is a casual raiding guild MT.

Overall they are still solid as a tank if you know how to play as they require a lot of button spamming. Not the best at anything but a good allrounder. Rage mechanic is broken and needs a major overhaul by Blizzard, but don't expect anything in this expac. DPS is lowest of all tanks AOE threat and damage is weak and HP is lowest with Palys. Most mobile tank with charge and intervene and good interupts.

I am Dual specced as arms which is fun, also quite difficult to play with a complicated rotation, very gear dependent and bursty damage. Bladestorm can do insane damage on trash and get you killed at the same time. I switch to arms on most hard mode Ulduar attempts and let our Paly tank as he can do twice the dps as prot that I can do.

@AcidRazor

im currently leveling a warrior, level 23 at the moment. If you find you are dying a lot use your damage reducing spells, such as demoralising shout, and also thunderclap.

My general rotation is charge, thunderclap rend(hamstring if mobs are cowards) then one or 2 heroic strikes and its game over.

I would stay away from warriors at the moment (and I have played a warrior for most of the last three years) unless you plan on tanking.

PvE Tanking: Holds his own although Death Knights are currently superior but this will change in 3.2.

PvE Arms or Fury Spec: Average but always scales well with gear so could make a come-back in 3.3(?) raiding. Fury is weaker than Arms at the moment even though you wield 2xtwo handers.

PvP Fury: Don't bother.

PvP Arms: Strong as long as the composition is strong as the warrior brings mortal strike and decent mobility. 2v2 works well with a paladin (HoJ + Bladestorm ftw) or with a resto druid. 3v3 there are several comps that work well with a warrior. However, remember that there are several classes that have a heal debuff (and mages will also have it in 3.2), and I think that a warrior lacks the most utility. A warrior that is forced to turtle (go defensive) is poor at the best of times.

Personally I have switched to a death knight and love the fluid movement, even with poor pings. To be successful as a warrior you need lightning reflexes and good latency as many abilities are bound to have being in a specific stance or require a shield.

I played a feral druid for about 3 years and then stopped wow. Got a new account rolled a warrior and leveled it too 80. And I can say is prot is awesome for leveling. Did some of it as arms but about 80% was in prot. I could solo almost all the elite quests in outland and northrend with the exception of a few that just hit a tad too hard.

Really enjoy my warrior though I do miss my druid. And yes there are a few things that could be beter on warriors but lets hope they fix it soon. Tanking aoe is a real pain at times :/

Oh and let me add that prot pvp is my new pass time. You can bounce around the battlefield quite fast since u just stay in defensive stance and charge, intercept and intervene all over the place. And even beter reflecting those 12k choasbolts is imba fun. As well as reflecting facerolling rets with their own hammer :P Just a shame there is no real pvp gear with block value and stuff on it :< but 9-10k shield slams are rather awesome. Gag order pisses people off quite a bit too since u can shield bash or heroic throw players and silence them. hehe ^_^

Prot pvp for warriors is no longer a real option in my opinion for two reasons:
(1) Removal of guaranteed ms crit on charge as this used to be a nice dps boost.
(2) Changes to block value mean that you will be doing far smaller shield slams, which were the main attack of a prot pvp spec.

Prot PvP is fun but not competitive in the long run.

Warriors suck..... someone had to say it.

Prot PVE (Raid): AoE is non-existent so if ur not doing a 5 tick Sunder on each mob or Challenging Shout (Which only lasts for so long) or Thuderclap.. or Retaliation you're screwed with the first hunter that pulls aggro on a loose mob. Intervene doesn't always help because typically if u lose one mob to a stray multishot you're gonna lose a few at the same time.

Arms/Fury PVE: low dps. Initially scales very nicely but in the end game has very little to show compared to feral combat druid, death knight (or dork knight as my buddy calls em), or locks, or mages, or.. erm.. actually everyone is better than a warrior.

PErhaps I am mentally scarrrrred after all my warrior trials and tribulations but of all my TBC lvl 70 characters only one isn't lvl 80. Can you guess which one?
