Washer fluid or water

Considering the general climate in Gauteng, is it necessary to use some type of commercial washer fluid in my car or would water suffice?

If you think I should go for a fluid solution, which one do you recommend?

Just use water haven't put anything in my cars.

Put in a splash of windolene

A bit of washer fluid does help to loosen up the occasional glob of hardened bird sh1te on the windshield. Just use the cheapest one in the shop

With the hard water it helps to add washer fluid or some vinegar. Both for less water marks on the window and mineral deposits over time.

put some windowlene in. when it rains the oil in the road spray covers your windshield

Water and a bit of car shampoo so that the water is not plain.

I normally dilute window cleaner like Windowlene or equivalent in a jug of water and put that in.
