My HiSense washing machine is making a noise like a washing machine with shot bearings, a few months after the end of its warranty. Hopefully that's the problem, but, if not, it could be new washing machine time. My gut feeling is that the longest warranty period is probably the most important thing to look at, with Beko and Midea winning there.

Are there any brands which I should avoid?

I don't really bother with warranties any longer with kitchen appliances, most should last 2+ years or more.

I'm on my second Samsung washing machine since 1998 (yes, 27 years, first lasted 15 years) - absolutely solid machines imo.
Run 2-3 loads a week.

Thing is that you can't really compare appliances made in 2010's with those made today.. day and night difference, especially on the lower end stuff of all brands..

I went high-end Hisense. Best value, features, warranty and build quality.

Bought my Bosch last year. I have never experience such a quiet washing machine and the clothes seem to be cleaner than anything else I've experienced. It is so quiet even when spinning, grew up with DEFY machines that would sound like a jet taking off. And yes it was level

Hisense are amazing when they work, but aftersales support is a real mixed bag.

I've had a cheap Hisense fridge since about 2012, perhaps earlier. It is still going today and looks new.

I bought a Hisense dishwasher in Covid times, it died 2y later. They could not source a new motherboard for it.

So yeah, for that reason alone, they have lost me. I would rather buy Bosch or something, thats also paired with a decent warranty.

Great service from Hisense for me. After sitting in its box for close to a month after purchase, I found that there was a slight abnormal noise during a part of the washing machine's cycle. Tafelberg (via Hisense) delivered a new one a few days later. My matching heat pump tumble dryer – a brand new model – had a minor cosmetic flaw on one of the bottom covers, and Hisense delivered new parts a few days later. Can't complain and I'm happy that I got far more features, higher build quality, and twice the warranty duration, for much cheaper than Bosch et al.

And they look awesome.

bosch washing machine and dishwasher. 15 years old not a single issue

Keeping the stickers on will make it easier swapping them out after a few years.
For more Hisenses yes, or which ever brand has the best features vs warranty vs build quality vs price.

Will sell these a year or so before the lengthy warranties end. Lucky buyer having looked-after machines under warranty, and even more money/saving for me.

I got a Midea top loader 10.5 3yr warranty.

Very impressed with it so far.
