[WATCH] Dramatic shootout in Randburg

Yeah, I dunno.

I surprised myself by feeling a wash of sadness for the perp who was shot in the head.

Theoretically I know he's a violent thug, but I also assume that he's someone's son.

I'm quite sad that I feel sad, if you know what I mean.

Of course our empathy is what separates us from the savages.

I am not sure why one cannot have empathy for both.

My empathy for people stops when they threaten the safety and lives of others, especially when said people are trying to earn an honest living.

You do release the guy was trying to kill someone else before he was taken out?

Talking about empathy. . .

I can still think he is a garbage human but also have empathy like Aquila ka Hecate said someones son. You don't always have to be that binary.

Oh wow! Fantastic work done by those ending this criminals' life! Just unfortunate not more bodies were left in the street....

Yeah I personally feel rocks for these guys. In fact, and as dark as this may sound, I would've liked to have seen more suffering from the thug.

Just yesterday there was a security escort vehicle that was ambushed. 36yo driver shot in the head for nothing more than his service weapon.

There should be no empathy for a criminal. When they attack and kill an innocent victim they have no empathy. Crime has become a war in this country and should be considered as such. Criminals running amock in public roads, with automatic machine guns, amongst innocent people shooting, robbing, etc., is actually not a crime - they are on all-out war mode. They are terrorists. Do not feel anything for them or their family.

I am not elevating his life above that of the potential victims, but I wonder about the turns his life took to have him land here and die in this horrible way. He could have chosen a different path and that he did not, THAT saddens me.

There will probably be more random shooting at his well attended funeral.

Yes, getting to this point is sad and I am aware that circumstances may have ensured he had no other option (born in to poverty, etc), but at the end of the day he tried to kill someone else and I can guarantee you that he never thought twice about them and this is where I lose all heart for him.

hectic!

but hey, isolated indecents and its just normal every day crime.

move along nothing to see here. everything is okay.

"South Africa the most inaccurate in their perception of issues vs reality" bwhahahahahaha
