On the back of a chat I had with hj2k in the English league thread , I decided to mention some (young) players who will make a big impact on World Football in the next 5 years and beyond:

John Obi Mikel - Chelsea (Nigerian)
Lionel Messi - Barcelona (Argentinian)
Andres Iniesta - Barcelona (Spanish)
Sergio Aguero - Athletico Madrid (Argentinian)
Cristiano Ronaldo - Manchester United (Portuguese) :p
Aruna Dindane - Lens (Ivorian)
Ikechuckwu Uche - Recreativo Huelva (Nigerian)
Wayne Rooney - Manchester United (English)
Ricardo Quaresma! - Porto (Portuguese)
Anderson! - Porto (Brazillian)
Diego! - Werder Bremen (Brazillian)
Alex - PSV Eindhoven (Brazillian)
Robinho - Real Madrid (Brazillian)
D'alessandro - Real Zaragoza (Argentinian)
Cesc Fabregas - Arsenal (Spanish)
Emmanuel Eboue - Arsenal (Ivorian)
Carlos Tevez - West Ham (Argentinian)
Michael Essien - Chelsea (Ghanaian)
Schweinsteiger - Bayern Munich (German)
Ribery - Marseilles (French)
Abou Diaby - Arsenal (French)
David Villa - Valencia (Spanish)

Any team which acquires one of these players strikes gold!!

Also from the Totts:

Thanks nivek, I will add the one I agree with from your list. Others are still a bit "hit and miss" if you know what I mean. ;)

PS: I'm tempted to include Denilson, looks very promising and has the temparament.

Where's Mascherano and Agger

Both are 22 and playing in the CL final.

To be frank alan both are still very new to the top flight, can't we wait until the end of next season? :)

Steven Taylor - Newcastle (English)
Giampaolo Panzini - Fiorentina (Italian)
Daniele De Rossi -Roma (Italian)
Cristian Ledesma - Lazio ( Argentinian)
Dani Alves - Sevilla (Brazilian)
David Silva - Valencia (Spanish)
David Villa - Valencia (Spanish)

Let me steal David Villa from your list. :o
Completely forgot about him, already the best Spanish striker in La Liga!

Happy googling Alan! :D

Agger's first season in the Prem at the age of 21 and he keeps Hyypia out the team. The guy has held his own against the best teams in the world including Barca and Chelsea. Nevermind having Rooney in his pocket in the Denmark vs England game. Trust me ;) is going to be a "great". As assured as any other name in your post :)

You only have to look at Mascherano during the WC and his displays for Liverpool when new to the club under difficult circumstances.

What more do you need?

Google schmoogle

Right off the top of my head I swear. I'm sure I've missed quite a few names hence the "more later" claim.
Ok please tell me more about this "Giampaolo Panzini" (reply within 2 minutes...fingers off google ;) )

:D

What about Essien?

Havent seen him much but the two times i've watched Chelsea closely were when they played Arsenal this season, and Essien saved them both times and looked pretty impressive..

He also didnt look too bad when Jose put him out of position and at the back during the Liverpool game

Most of these players are well known already , and are already important cogs in there respectful teams.

Ppl are saying Scott Sinclair ( Chelsea Reserves) is a massive talent.Maybe Sheva will leave and allow for this boy to develop more next season

You should know him better, I don't watch Liverpool a lot to be honest. On my list I included players that I can testify for...I have seen them in match situations.

Yeah Javier had a good World Cup...pity Argentina didn't go far. His Liverpool perfomance is still not earth-shaking, but then again he has only just arrived and he needs to adjust to a new team, new country, new league etc.

nevermind i see essien is on the list :P

Still think Gael Clichy should be there though, hes young and hes an awesome left back

Adding 2 list ..

Lukas Podski (Bayern Munich)
Yeah promising talent, but if I were to choose any player from that team it would be Bastien Schweinsteiger. Far more dynamic and unpredictable.

You see his goals against England at Wembley? The very first goal at the new stadium IIRC. Also seen him often in the Seria A. They say he is one for the future.
