Do you switch off your geyser in times like this ? My understanding is the water will remain there and not run dry ?
1. Yes switch it off
2. My understanding as well
where is that bloody rain you were talking about.

If no water coming in and cold is 'dry/air', you can get a back flow of hot water into the cold water pipes and out of cold water taps. i.e. no pressure keeping water in geyser from the 'in', and it flows out that way and makes its way to your open tap(at least thats how plumber explained it to me when one day hot water came out of cold tap). Not sure how low it drains before element is exposed though or even possible to be a problem?
They are digging trenches and laying a new pipe from the main supply dam because the inlet is properly broken.
Im not expecting it to be done in any hurry.
Viva cANCer viva.
Not sure about Gonubie, Bonza Bay and lower Beacon Bay were fine earlier.
Apparently that side is serviced from a different sanitation works.
I saw pics of the construction for the new pipe, its pretty serious stuff and I dont see it happening in the timeframes they have given.
