In the National Assembly today, the minister of water affairs was Questioned on the deteriorating quality of drinking water.

Hendricks was questioned on why 5 people died from typhoid in Delmas from drinking polluted water.

She was also questioned about the 77 outbreaks of cholera in the Eastern Cape last year.

In response she replied that the 144 high-risk areas are to be upgraded soon.
A new dam with more capacity than the Vaal dam is also to be built for Gauteng.

I heard a rumour from a dude at Rand Water a few years back that this was being planned for the Kibler Park catchment area along the Klip river vlei .
Probably delayed any anouncements to give ANC cronies enough time to buy up the farmland in the area cheapcheap and then sell it back at a major profit when the plans are confirmed
