watercooling questions

well i budget makes it way more fun than buying all the best stuff...So now I'm gonna have to make and break as I go.

I'm giving myself a budget of R500 for a pump, radiator and tubing. If anyone wants to help out by selling cheap/donating it would be awsome. I've decided to put some effort in so that it won't look like crap :D

LOL that whole idea blows my mind! I just wonder what the lifespan is on those parts
Never mind the lifespan...I'm more intrigued by how one would swop a component out...cause the new part won't make proper contact.

I was lucky enough to get all of my stuff from Canada when I visited my family there. It only cost me $500 Canadian. But I wouldn't have been able to get what I got in SA anyway.

Here's a pic of what it looked like. Since then I've upgraded the rad to a 360. Also did a lot of cable management. :o

Proper contact?

$500 Canadian is a lot...my water blocks already cost me R800 bt they seem quality and I didnt wanna skimp on them.R500 for the rest shouldnt be too hard if someone donates something.

also I transport my pc about 10 times a year (from res and back and sometimes in the house when working with my dad) so I will try keep it as compact as possible.Gonna change my case quite a bit to fit everything in.

I've had the setup for more than a year now. And I've driven from Pretoria to Welkom quite a few times now. Hell, even went to rAge last year without any issues. You must just do a proper leak test.

Yeah, I saved up for a while since I knew I was going. Whatever you get should be more than sufficient.

You should go to this site tho. Helped me out immensely.

toxin dont you have any extra's lying around :D ?
well more than R3000 for a cooling system is just ridiculous imo. Rather just buy better parts and overclock less. But thats just me...

I've got my old 240 rad (the one in the pic), but that one has got a leak. :( Althought you might be able to fix it up.

Yeah, it was a bit overkill but at least now I've got a setup that'll last me quite a while.

Also the performance is insane. I took my E6400 (stock @2160Mhz) to 3400Mhz. Core temps during this winter time have been: Idle=24ºC Load=38ºC.

Even in the heat of summer I get Idle=28ºC Load=45ºC running Orthos for an hour.

you got pm! Yea I guess its not too bad if you transfer the cooling equiptment from pc to pc...But if its your hobby then why not :)

can you mod 3/8" pump and radiator to 1/2" without too much pressure loss (or none at all)?I can get a pump and radiator for cheap that is 3/8" but my waterblocks are 1/2"

Ok thanx for you advice thus far.
Pump -have
Radiator -in process of getting from toxic
Gpu Block -have
Cpu Block- have
Tubing- still need
Thermal Paste -still need
Coolant addative- got a bit but still need some
Fans for radiator-still need (120mm x 3 needed for my build)
All donators are most welcome!

Will post pics of my progress as soon as I start building. Prob thursday/friday. Get ready to be amazed by my skill! I will also make a quick guide for anyone wanting to take the plunge...
