Need some recommendations for a waterproofing company based in Pretoria or Centurion. Concrete slab at home is giving me hell when it rains.

They have done loads of work for me and friends, redid my new place roof's waterproofing and even fixed the leaks in the indoor braai chimney. They currently busy sorting out the old place's waterproofing before we put it in the market. Think they give 3 year guarantee also, have to check the certificate.

Irrespective of what company you choose;

1. make sure your slab doesnt have design flaws, aka water pooling after rain.
2. Ample 120mm draining gutters.
3. Torch on, with silver reflective paint, which is a maintenance item every couple of years.

Went with these guys about 11 years ago
The only company that I got quotes from that did not ask for a deposit and stepped payments as the work gets done. Pay once on completion
So far 11 years on not an issue
10 yr guarantee on the work

The problem with waterproofing work is that you only really know if it's worked when it rains again, which could be anywhere from a week to a few months later depending on where you live. So double-check how good that "guarantee" really is because I can assure you they will NOT get it right first time, there WILL be places where the waterproofing has not worked and they WILL need to come back at least once, if not twice or three times to patch up areas where the waterproofing hasn't taken. The hallmark of a good waterproofing company is how they handle these "comebacks".

In New Zealand we use a product called NURALITE. Comes with a 20 year warranty. And the company takes responsibility for it, not the installer. Although the installers are all qualified and registered.

We have something like this in SA?

The above are my main issues. Flat spots where water is pooling; Box gutter getting blocked frequently; Existing torch-on requires maintenance and those pesky birds making a mess all the time.

The pooling is not that much of an issue (imo) if your torched on waterproofing is in good shape.

My old section of the house (450m2) is 18 years and i have puddles at many spots but there are no leaks.

I do apply the silver reflective paint every 3 years .

On my new section , there are also puddles at a few spots close to the downpipes, but water will never penetrate through the torched on membrane.
