Good day everyone in the form,

Can we please assist my cousin to calculate wattage and amps for solar pv panels, charge controller, inverter and voltage required for deep cycle battery needed to run all of this appliance without disturbance . he use almost every day the following appliances: 2*100w light for 7hrs,2*60w lights for 4hrs,1*2200w kettle for 2hrs and stove plate 1* 2000w .

Please lets help the poor guy from rural areas he is without electricity.

2 hours for the kettle? wtf?
How long for the stove?

I think his electricity bill is the least of his worries.
no he is an idiot and doesnt understand the concept of wasting electricity, it might be cheaper to rather boil and flask it until the flask is empty
but he is stubborn

If you're looking to run a stove and a kettle from batteries, don't. Replace them with a gas-hob or use a gas-backup cooker for the time you need it.

As the others have said: get your wattage down by replacing with LED of CFL lights. I'd personally rather go for these Magneto rechargeable lanterns then trying to build a solar and battery backup system, together with a gas stove, on which you can boil a kettle and/or cook.

As others have said he must first replace all lights with LEDs, the stove and and kettle must be converted to gas, or since he is in the rural areas get a coal stove and go chop some wood In the veld.

However if he insists on running everything off solar he would need about 2000W worth of solar panels, at 330W a panel it would be six panels. Estimated cost is about R13200.

He would also need a 5kw inverter, estimated cost, R15k

Battery storage, minimum 10.5kWh @ around R75k.

Total cost still exclude many things like cables, mounting hardware, etc.

Remember your panels peak power is only achieved for a couple of hours a day.

This. He would need at least 2200w to run the kettle on direct solar conversion and that would be best case.

I've got one of those lights. They work well especially since you can carry them around if needed.

Replacing a regular light with LED is a very easy thing to do anyway.
