The refereeing in this world cup has been pathetic at best. Everyone saing NZ are just sore loosers will be singing a different tune if SA lost because of bad calls by a reff.

Bad reffing isn't just bad for the loosing side, but bad for the game in general. When a ref makes to many blatant mistakes it doesn't matter who's playing, he should be suspended for X amount of time depending on the mistakes he made.

Noone can seriously expect the reff to see everything that happens, but some mistakes are inexcusable. I would rather the reffs behind the monitors with slowmos and replays were the main reffs, so when a team wins it's because they were better, and the loosers can't cry about it being unfair.

NZ have only themselves to blame, they threw away a 14 point lead

yes blatant forward pass but the all blacks should have put more than 3 points on the board in the second half

I really don't get the NZ fans. NZ threw away a 13 point lead, and then they complain about the forward pass.

I wonder if Barnes is ever going to officiate in a game in NZ ever in the future ?

I'm not sure that NZ threw away a 13 point lead rather then it was the Bairns who threw away thier ability to defend that lead 1st by sending Luke to the sin bin for 10 minutes for what was certainly not a yellow cardable offence. France scored a try against the 14 AB and then the infamous missed forward pass.

For me that was 2 telling errors and 2 too many in a game as important and as closely contested as this quarter final was...

I'm certainly not an all black supporter, my blood is very green but the game of rugby union was been dealt a cruel blow. That such errors can occur is a huge indictment on how the game is controlled and interpreted by referees. Furthermore that the outcome of a match can hinge on the referees interpretation and application of the rules is rather perturbing.

For this reason I'm not a fan of sin binning and sending players to the cooler for 10...
