Hi guys, thought I would supply some info.
I cancelled Afrihost because for the last two weeks I could not download even 1 movie and experienced many disconnects.
Joined Wazzup yesterday and got 1 gB free to browse so long, since my account is only active tomorrow.
Noticed an improvement immediately last night, and also started downloading the movie Salt.
This morning I checked and it was done, no problems.
Download speed varies between +- 30 - 40 kbps.
Will do a speedtest tonight and post back in case somebody is interested.

Sounds good but I don't like the idea of migrating my adsl line to them.

^^ I'm on 4meg now but agree, that's also the reason I never went with them.

I'm on a 512 account with them and did 116Gb as of this morning. Torrents run over 45 most of the time. Some torrents will even average over 50 peaking to nearly 60.

Only thing is, now we are running out of things to download.(No I don't want to download pron)

Get 30 Rock, funniest show on earth :D!!

How long does it take to join?
(have to give them your line so what do you do in the mean time??)

What is game performance like? (shaping)

Hi Gingerbeer,

There is no impact when your line is signed over. They only take over the ADSL portion.

We don't do online gaming. My wife plays all this FB ***** though(Cafeworld, farmville, frontierville etc) my brother in law shares my line from the house next door. They are on FB as well. They watch a lot of Youtube videos.

I signed up at 1:30 and had my username and password at 2:00

I'll check out the gaming performance tonight.

My concern is what happens when you want to change ISPs?

Well, you have to give them 30 days notice and it only takes 20 days to move your line (so they say), so I guess you just have it moved back the day you give notice.

Well it's been 2 days and so far it's truly unshaped. Everything runs at full line speed, I'm not so sure about gaming though. Battlefield BC2 was getting 180ms to SGS server which is pretty crap :(

Most people on 384k get between 150 and 180 ping for BC2. I upgraded to "10" meg and only then did my ping drop to about 100.

Been with WAZZUP now for 5 months and simple loving it. Needed an uncapped account with low latency to europe and must say, WAZZUP is doing the job

Doing a tracert to Erope.battle.net with 10 hops avg 240-280 on any normal day. So far, im loving my SC2 latency, never being disconnected

Torrents also flying full speeds. Big up to WAZZUP and Andre for excelent support

Apparently you can keep the line with Wazzup and let them continue managing it.

The account setup goes ahead straight away, so there is no waiting for Telkom to give it up.
