Getting back to the 'are they sentech or not' thing. I think they're an interesting hybrid of Sentech + New Secret Ingredient 'X'
I'm curious to see what happens once this immediate 'thing' is sorted out (be it a 'problem' or a 'slowdown' or 'other')
ie: whether WBS are pinning their profit-hopes on making the general experience before cap so good, (an thus so lousy after the cap), that people will purchase more - or whether they're going to stay with the 'slow? what problem? there's no problem!' model..
Coz in some ways we're in the softening up phase of the standard 'Bait and Switch' model - get us hooked on high speeds so that we'll keep paying more in order to download things - and pay more, and pay more, and be grateful for being able to pay more for the good speeds - so we could be getting softened up now, ahead of the sting - coz everyone's suffering b/w withdrawal symptoms)
Otherwise they might do a mixture of what's known as the Winston Smith 'dazzle them with your calculations' method -'Hi I'm Winston Smith, let me use my pen and this paper to explain to you how you're totally mistaken about your expectations with our service'
But this current Help Desk 'renegade Orc Rebel Alliance tired of having to apologize for the cr*p service' is fascinating, as even in the worst times under Sentech - I never heard dion joubert or any of the other helpdesk controllers being as honest as these guys. So this is an unknown variable..
I think the next 2 -3 weeks should be very interesting, and determine for certain if WBS is going to rise from the slab as a new Sentech-Monster with bolts through its neck, or whether its going to be a normal housetrained ISP..
A couple of weeks I fink, and we'll know for sure..
