Wbs knows who we are, they have all our contact emails. Why can't they send out a status update once a week, telling us what the hell it is they're actually doing with the base stations, so we can make changes where necessary until they sort themselves out ? Or for security reasons [ weasel exit ] if we can't be told what, just let us know something is happening at least.

One day the MTU is 1492, then the next there's no problem [ according to the Helldesk ], then the modem is going to magically update it's firmware, then the MTU needs to be 1352, when actually 1492 works peachy.

Another thing : with a MTU of 1492 if I can see and post to this forum from the iBurst connection, why can't I see other non-sa sites ? UUnet have decreased their MTU, that's why. IBurst runs through UUnet. Anything on this side of UUnet is visible, anything other is not. Some .co.za domains are hosted on the other side, so that explains why I can see this forum, and not some other sites.

I just got to count slowly to ten, breathe deeply in and out ...

I find breaking ****, screaming at people and threatening them with their jobs (then asking for a manager and screaming at him) helps.

[ic, the above comment is made which was a part of this person's post which I deem part of the topic even though the actual topic is WBS's inability to communicate with it's clients in a proper manner, so if you delete this, I will seriously stir more **** until I get banned]

grist in the mill

To remain sane, it is vital to be able to rationalise one's daily experiences.

I do it this way : I am an early adopter of broadband technology in this country, hence I must endure the hardships associated thereto, for the sake of those to come, that the market may grow and expand, so that prices may come down when more providers are instantiated and there will be more choice, hence more freedom. Therefore, I am a vry-DOM fighter.

Funny, it sounded a lot better to me last night after a few stiff shots of mampoer.

we don't need technical updates, thats just crazy to expect them to add that sort of crap to thier schedule, I think if something major is going to happen then sure tell us about it. You are not an early adopter seeing as how broadband has been available for a while.

You might not need technical updates, but I do. I get extremely irritated that my 700 a month doesn't get me the connectivity it's supposed to, and the least I expect is an explanation. It's not like I'm going to be refunded for the days I experience a lack of connectivity, is it ?

and another thing, I don't care about their schedule. They offer a service, and I'm paying for it. I manage the payment, and they should manage their own schedule.

correcto mundo, i am a iburst fanboy. I am a blinded idiot but WBS love me for it.

Well, I can tell you that most newsgroups these days are seeded with snipers, but I really don't give a fig. WBS is giving me ****ty service, which I'm paying for, and I will say what I think. I really don't give a crap about their workload and other sob stories. If they want to stay viable, they need to jack up their service. It's easy being in business when there's no other choice for customers to make.

yeah WBS were incredibly sh1tty with me to begin with. Not sure if they were busy or whatever and dont really care... but then which large south african comany actually gives a good service? I dont need service with a smile... I need service with intelligence :) But hey gotta admit... when you even try to compare Sentech to iBurst... its like trying to compare a bicycle with the space shuttle..

So bad experiences aside I have a new found respect with WBS and realise they actually havent really launched so cant expect service levels to be 100%.
