So the 1st round of matches already provided some shocks, with a poor England only managing to beat lowly Andorra and their terrible, defensive, spoiling footy 2-0.

Elsewhere, Germany showed the world what you are meant to do when playing minnows- sweeping aside Liechtenstein 6-0.

France went down 3-1 to Austria (who were shocking in Euro2008)

Tonight sees England take on the Croatians away, which should be the hardest game of the group for them. Bilic has already dismissed England as terminally uselss, so it should be an interesting game :)

It's a good job that SA have qualified as hosts, otherwise I don't think they would have made it :o

I thought Andora did well considering their size.

I thought Andora did well considering their size.

England were pretty weak, but Andorra tend to play a 10-0-0 formation in an attempt to keep the score down, which they did. Didn't really look like ever scoring themselves though :o

Still PMB is far larger than Andorra and if PMB United played England it would have been10-0 by half time :D

Andorra's players are part-time footballers, they did very well against England.

Tonight england will go down 2-0 to Croatia.

Probably. I've seen nothing so far to suggest England have made any significant improvements under Capello

They should get rid of Rooney, his only scored two competitive goals in the last four years for England.

LMAO:D Thats pathetic
Rooney should get the boot sooner or later. But Capello seems intent on making the same mistakes that Erickson and McClaren made.

rooney and cole supporting heskey - priceless.

measure not a mans worth in the goals he scores, but the space he opens up and the assists to which he is due

thus sayeth the black n white book of ball sports

Good showing by England, Croatia have only loss twice at home.

Everything is shocking!

North Korea actually might qualify over South Korea!

lol Walcott has scored more competitive goals in 1 game than rooney has scored in 4 years.

Well that's the first good game rooney has had for England in donkey years. So enjoy it Henry.
And i've heard the "Walcott living up to his..." line so many times from my Arsenal friends before. But he's just never been consistent.
But even I must say that a hat trick against Croatia is something special

Walcott finally living up to his promise, and Rooney scoring and providing two assists, for those of you not paying attention ;)

1 good game for rooney in 4 years, ill wait another 4 years for the next one.

Disappointing about croatia going down to 10 men at the start of the half, would have liked to have seen a full 90 mins with 2 full strength teams.

Even Lamps performed very well, and the only thing I can put that down to is no Stevie G on the field.

Those 2 can not play together...
