I am contemplating to buy the above NAS. This will primarily be to serve my video and music content to the network.

I can get it for R4 959 (4 TB) - http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products.aspx?id=270

Is there perhaps another unit I should be considering, even if it cost a little bit more?

That is a decent price for a WD 4TB NAS, I've just never had good luck with WD so my only recommendation is going with a Seagate BlackArmor if you can afford it.

Sexiest NAS's in existence IMHO.

You can get the BlackArmor 400 with no drives in it cheaply then just add 4 drives.
