WD TV Play with Plex - Movie folder is empty

Does anyone know what could be causing the above.

I have plex server on my pc which the live play, streams off. Now I've got a Movie and TV category with all files added.

Files in TV is viewable but when I got to Movies and then All files i get an error ( there is no media in the folder ).

Folder is shared on pc and file/folder permissions set for "Everyone".

The following solutions I found online, I have attempted and did not work:
- Perform an analysis and deep scan of the files in plex server.
- Change to list view ( dunno how that would've solved anything but apparently it did for someone )

Only other thing I can think of is re-creating the category and hoping it works but Plex is so slow with adding files, seeing as it also has to pull data off the net.

When you open plex media manager on the pc via a browser can you see anything under the movies section. The url should be http://localhost:32400/web . If you can not see the media via the local browser you might need to rescan or rather delete and redo that section

Home pages is: My Library ( with movies and tv cat ), On deck ( i assume this is recently watched ), Recently added ( self explanatory ) and then My channels.

If i click on movies in my library, everything shows.

Ok since the media is visible locally on the pc I would suggest you maybe try stream from your phone/tablet with an android/ ios device using the plex app or a free player like imediashare ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bianor.amspersonal ) &see if the movies section displays & streams the content

Checked with the app and didnt work.

Compared the share with my TV share and the only difference was in the permissions. Movie had an additional user "administrator" which I removed and its now working. Maybe it was trying to connect using admin :shrug:

Glad it's working, permissions permissions permissions. Are you a local admin on the plex pc? Usually one doesnt need to share/ modify permissions folder by folder. I just create my folders, dump media in them, map&scan from plex interface and all works from there
