WDS bridging help

I'v'e actually got CAT5/6 everywhere - the wireless is just for IoT devices, mobiles, and the occasional laptop. First thing I did was hardwire this house, so I have about 8 multiple port switches running in various places, mostly in the roof.

I'm using powerline ethernet to connect the garage to the network (power monitoring, and security camera) - performance is about 60Mbs - never gotten faster over the powerlines here.

Bit late to the party but why would not consider powerline ethernet @xrapidx? Given the levels of effort already spent that may be the easiest option.

I appreciate the inner geek would want to make the setup work with the kit you already have but if it is fussy or unstable, the household will complain as they do not care for your geeky sh.it.
@xrapidx sorry for the highjack here :)
@LCBXX do you have some advice regarding the power line ethernet? Units to use, etc?

I use TP-Link units that have both an ethernet port and 802.11n WiFi, there are 3 in our place: 1 "parent" at the Fibre box and 2 others slaving from it in the house. I'll post the model number when I get home. I have not explicitly tested throughput but it is easily north of 130Mb when using the Ethernet ports on the units.

Thanks man!
So are the parents and slaves the same units with different configs?

You can only configure the main/parent device. There is a pairing process for the slave units but it is pretty straightforward and they are managed from the admin page of the main/parent one.

Slight Necro, but worth the feedback I reckon.

After struggling the last few months with my MiBox and PS4 absolutely F@#$cking the WDS setup, I purchased the following on Saturday:

TP-Link PA4010K AV600 Nano Powerline Starter Kit
TP-Link WPA4220PKIT 300mbps Wireless AV600 Powerline

So all in all 3 AV600 units and one AV600 Wifi unit.

Initial setup as a breeze: One unit at the Fibre router, one at the PS4 (1st floor), and boom ... full LAN speed on the PS4.
Wanted to leave the rest for Sunday morning (as I would need to reconfigure all the Airport Express APs), but decided to carry on on Saturday night.

Installed the second slave in the lounge, feeding into a Netgear DGN2000 router for the MiBox and 2 Exploras. BOOM, like a BOSS.

Then the fun started ... It would appear that some of my Plugs upstairs are not wired properly, and struggled to get network stability on the Wifi extender and the PS4 slave in certain plugs.
I wasn't sure if this was due to the Airport Express not configured correctly for the new setup, or bad plugs. I ended up putting the Wifi Extender by the PS4 upstairs, got full WiFi Coverage on the 1st floor.
Took the 3rd slave, plugged it in elsewhere downstairs, feeding the Airport Express, and green lights all round.

All and all, I now have proper coverage for the whole house, for under R2000 (excluding the routers I already had).
