We are not facing a coal cliff: Eskom

Yeah... there may be 200 years of coal in the ground Brian... hut if you won't by directly from suppliers if they're not 51% black owned.. you won't get access to a large portion of it at prices that are acceptable.

A few politically connected BEE coal suppliers will become super rich and the economy will remain the hands of whites.
Don't worry ... another 2 to 5 years of this nonsense will make off-grid, solar PV installations economically feasible.
Then Eskom can try get Sowetan's to pay for their electricity.

If we are to believe all that comes from the lips of Eskom, there is absolutely nothing wrong at the moment and the future is a bed of roses.

Oh is this Molefe idiot still allowed to speak?

Brown entered the debate about BEE and its impact on Eskom’s contract costs, saying: “We have to transform the economy if you look at the figures … you will see largely … the economy has not transformed. There are a couple of new BEE people participating… but in essence it remains in the hands of large white conglomerates.”

Brown added: “that has to change. … (government) is going to do it (implement black empowerment) that empowers our people and continues to grow (the) economy.”

Yes you can always buy from that beautician who supplies coal on the side.

Come, come Ms. Brown, the economy is hardly something you would want to mention. Politics 101 tsk, tsk.
