We are ready

Kaizer chiefs should be allocated a little deserted field somewhere to play on till their fans learn to behave and stop ripping stadiums to shreads, especially with the new fancy expensive stadiums being built..

too right, although the chiefs fans say they were just helping with the demolition before the refurbishment :D

Didn't your mothers ever tell you
There is nothing wrong with the N1?
There are more metro buses on our roads all the time and the taxi-recap is progressing.

Man, you are a .......

The NEWEST bus in Tshwane is 14 years old, the oldest 35 or something, they break down all the time. The taxi guys just blocked the N1 today cause they dont like the taxi recap.

How about them apples?

just look at the number of primary health care facilities now available to people who didn't have them before

Dude, when was the last time you went to a public hospital to get some medical treatment?
I did about two years ago and I can tell you that there is no such thing as public, primary health care in this country. You'll have better luck visiting a Sangoma.
I guess you don't know this because you're on a nice medical aid scheme and will only use private health care facilities.

Did our esteemed minister of garlic survive her stint in public healthcare?

My mother had a light heart attack a couple of months ago, and they send her to the public hospital. She refused to go, the previous time she was there, the nurses would wake them up at 5 in the morning and tell themt o make their own beds, and also threatened them, that if they do complain..they might get the "wrong medicine"

Ahhh, hang ten there buddy, she may have gone to Joburg Gen, but she did not spend time in the same wards as the general population. Oh no, she was in fact booked into the far more luxurious private facilities.

Yeah, thats what I thought!

"All animals are equal but some are more equal"

Government has shown it's committment to being ready - 15 billion set aside, and all the plans are in place - the majority of work - before any event happens behind the scenes - you may not see it - but there is alot going on

So they are basically busy sorting out the bribes and kickbacks? I bet a bunch of Ministers' family members and best friends suddenly became interested in the construction industry.

I dnt believe or trust this Government anymore telling us everything is sorted is expecting us to have blind faith in them, sorry it doesnt do it for me. Once their words are followed up by actions and fairly quickly then I'll believe we on track to host this thing.

Manto discharged from hospital October 27 2006

"I am very glad that I have been discharged today after being in hospital for the past three weeks," the minister said in a statement.
-
"I know that many of you have been enquiring about why I have remained in hospital for this long. I should have been discharged last week as I had recovered from the respiratory infection," said Tshabalala-Msimang.
-
"However, in consultation with the medical team attending to me, we agreed that I remain in hospital until today (Friday) to allow for my full recovery. This included a couple of physiotherapy sessions."

useless cow - who ever heard of 3 weeks in hospital?

Didn't your mothers ever tell you

"If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"

FIFA, the government and the sponsors are all very happy with our progress. They are the key players, all the people who aren't happy don't have any insight into whats happening and what has been done.

Your mother should've told you not to believe politicians.....

Lets reiterate this one more time.

The Gautrain does not need to be ready.
Nope, we have an excellent public transport system already in place! NOT

There is nothing wrong with the N1?.
N1 HIGHWAY PROBLEMS AND JOINT EFFORTS TAKEN: VAAL TRIANGLE
Officials 'passing the buck' on N1 squatters
Drastic plan to improve N1
Stuck in traffic
Lighting, wall set along notorious N1 road
There is a lot wrong with the N1, same with a number of other NAtional roads

There are more metro buses on our roads all the time and the taxi-recap is progressing.
Do you live in constant denial?
Joburg taxis return to normal
Scrap recapitalisation programme - operators
Intense frustration as taxis hijack highway
Transport woes: SACP sees red

Most of the stadiums are built and only need to be refurbished
Sorry to burst your bubble but this is not only a case of giving an existing place a new name to salve some egos. This will involve MAJOR reconstruction as all of our stadiums (including the rugby stadiums) are too small for FIFA's liking. I haven't seen any work on this important aspect started yet! Or do you think Brazil will take on England somewhere in one of our pothole-ridden streets?

Maybe it's time for you to let go of a few fairytales your mother told you. No, there is no Father Christmas, the tooth fairy does not exist, there is no easter bunny, and politicians lie. Sorry you had to find it out this way, but someone had to tell you....

Sorry for the delay :) I forgot about this thread.

I don't go to PTA often so I can't say. In central JHB there are brand new busses all over the place. That is all I was saying.

Yeah the taxi-recap is not going very well at the moment, but it is going. I just wonder what is going to happen after the 7 days are up...
