Temu local warehouse tested in South Africa

MyBroadband tested ordering from Temu sellers who offer “local warehouse” products and was impressed with the quick service, with the parcel arriving within two days.

Temu recently launched local warehouse support in South Africa, promising much faster delivery times and zero import taxes on specific products.
 
so there is no warehouse and its all local anyway,
so just lie and say a local warehouse, when its the same way it always was, Cheap goods made in China but appearing at your door faster.
 
Me on the otherhand, I’ve been waiting over a week for my 3D Anatomically Correct Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla usb-C Sex Arse.

Looks like I’m going to have to initiate a chargeback.
 
But that magnifying soldering stand cost R136 on Temu and you paid R255 from local warehouse?

Newsflash, everything you own and most likely wear was made in china or parts thereof :P so alles is "cheap goods from china"

Cost of a slightly larger box is only fractionally more than a box of the appropriate size.

Determining what is the appropriately sized box is an NP hard computer science problem. There is no easy answer or quick way to do it.

Hence the business optimisation is to just tell a wagie to pick a bigger box.

edit: in fact the cost for boxes actually decreases for the number of items you want to pack because the material cost increases by the square, whilst the volume increases by the cube

You think takealot is an amazon warehouse auto packing boxes? its some dude who can't count to 3 picking the closest box to him, it is a laziness problem, not a complex geometry problem.

And what do you think costs more?
Paying slightly more for a larger box or paying millions for a computerised automatic packaging system?

what costs less is an organization system or a competent person, it doesn't have to be this or that, there is an in between, as useful as it is sometimes I don't need a box that could house an entire homeless family for my 128mb flash drive I ordered.

Why are you complaining about the free Takealot housing :p ?

Takealot mitigates the biggest problem with the packaging, and that is to use brown paper as a filler instead of plastic. At least that stuff degrades into mulch.
