Completely unreliable. I'll embelish that a little by suggesting you find all the other poor applicants who had install dates set, only to be told "sorry, there's no ADSL available in your area until blah blah"
Telkom are incredibly apathetic about ADSL installation and upgrading the infrastructure to facilitate it.
One could understand if funds were too low to upgrade the network rapidly and efficiently, but as we know, Telkom once again made record profits.
The only thing I can assume from the lack of ADSL delivery is that it's not profitable in the short term - the longer they take to roll out ADSL, the more profit they make on their alternative solutions.
In the case of dialup internet access, people are paying on average, in excess of R500 a month on top of their normal phone bill. ISDN is even higher and then there's Diginet.
To sum it up, their dates are about as reliable as the Johannesburg Public Transport..
