This week, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast that, on a real GDP per capita basis, the average South African would suffer in 2017 as local population growth exceeded economic growth.

I can only hope and pray I get a new job in the near year.

I've received the same salary from April 2014 and while I didn't think it too bad then, it's caught up. I'm not going to get an increase in 2017 either ... So effectively one salary for 4 years.

Every year gets worse and worse ... And hugely feeling the pinch now

Not only in 2017 but also in 2016 South African ended up poorer. And even in 2015 (depending whom you believe). As Mugabe used to say - it is because of the drought. As for next year, the ANC promised to make even more promises. Just hang in there.
